Active Shooter Response Drill
Posted on: Oct 18, 2016There will be an听Active听Shooter听Response drill听on campus October 9, 2018 sometime between 11:30am and 1:30pm. This drill will involve an actor walking around with a toy pistol, yelling 鈥渂ang鈥� to simulate the actions of an听active听shooter. Please read the email which has been sent to all Faculty, Staff and Students for further information and to prepare yourself ahead of time.

While the drill is being conducted in a respectful way, some people may find it stressful.听This drill is optional. If you find you are听overwhelmed at any time听and you want to 鈥榦pt out鈥� you may go to听CS207,听The Design Thinking Space听which on the top floor of the Centre for Science Research and Innovation which has been set aside for this purpose. A Counsellor will be in available听CS207听from 11:30am-1:30pm.
The focus of the drill is on how we best respond to this kind of threat; considering your options ahead of time allows you to make the best decision in a period of high stress.
