Indigenous Careers Award

Annual awards ($2,000 per semester) designed to encourage Indigenous Albertans (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit) to pursue and complete post-secondary studies in certificate, diploma, applied degree, and bachelor’s degree programs. Eligible programs at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ include Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Education After Degree, Bachelor of Environmental Health After Degree, Bachelor of Management and Dual Degrees in Science/Management. This award is made possible by funding from the Government of Alberta.

  • To be eligible you must be Status Indian/First Nations, Non-Status Indian/First Nations, Métis or Inuit and be able to provide proof of Indigenous ancestry.
  • You must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada and an Alberta resident.
  • You must be enrolled in at least 60% of a full course load at CUE (if you are a student with a documented permanent disability, you can be eligible if you are enrolled in at least 40% of a full course load).
  • You must be in satisfactory academic standing as determined by CUE.
  • Preference will be given to students who are in their first year of study at Concordia, not receiving other awards totaling more than $1,000, not receiving sponsorship totaling more than $3,500, and have not previously received the award.
