1. Drama
The 3-year bachelor program is designed to provide a broad base of experience in theatre arts. You will gain skills through practical inquiry, experimentation in theatre creation and performance, risk taking and application of research and theory. Courses include public speaking, acting, directing, theatre for young audiences, technical theatre, design and film making. Participation as a performer or crew member in at least one mainstage production is a course requirement of the program. The program culminates with a capstone project offering an opportunity to plan and execute a major project in your area of interest. No audition is required for entrance to the program, but you will have to audition for acting roles in productions.
You will have the opportunity to audition, volunteer and perform in the two major productions put on each year. There are also options throughout the year to participate in student projects and workshops. These experiences build your skills as a theatre artist and enhance your course work.
Upon completion of the program, graduates are prepared to work in a variety of settings including professional theatre or community and social service agencies. Graduates may choose to continue their studies in a professional theatre training program, graduate school or an Education After Degree.
