Please welcome Verena to the Office of Teaching and Learning as the Educational Developer!Ìý

Dr. Verena Roberts is a passionate online and blended K-12 educator, a learning designer and a consultant who completed her EdD in Learning Sciences with a focus onwith the Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary. ÌýVerena is an Adjunct Assistant professor and sessional instructor with the Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary. Most recently, she helped to design the Associate Science undergraduate degree as an Instructional Designer with Thompson Rivers University and completed a . During COVID she was on contracts as a Learning Designer with the UBC ETS team, an Educational Specialist with the (Cybera) and as a high school online teacher with Rocky View Schools, Alberta. Verena has developed a wide variety of workshops (likeand presented at national and international conferences including the on Storytelling and Perspectives: Weaving Indigenous Ways of Knowing, Open Educational Practices (OEP) and SDG’s in High School Learning Environments in Slovenia. She is the 2013 iNACOL Innovative Online and Blended Learning Practice Award Recipient, the 2019 CNIE K-12 Excellence and Innovation in the Integration of Technology, a 2020 CATE (Canadian Association for Teacher Education) Graduate Student Award Recipient and the 2022 Sessional Teaching Award Winner for the Werklund School of Education.
